This and following posts with the main title "The Irony of the Church Fathers" was written by Kevin Kleint, former editor of a Christian prophetic newsletter called "The Elijah List." He has since stopped writing and posting anything of similar information. The last I heard from him, he had had a type of "crisis of faith." Please pray for him and his family. He wrote a book called "Prophetic Masquerade" which revealed how to expose false prophets. I do not take any credit for these writings, but I feel strongly that they are important to lead others to the truth of the Scriptures and away from man-made religion.  

These writings were originally posted publicly and therefore, available to anyone on the internet.

Through a combination of inherited religion, scriptural ignorance, socially accepted lingo and a lack of knowledge of (or appreciation for) church history, the majority of modern day christians have no idea of the evolution of their belief system.

And there is a reason why “christianity,” which looked one way in the book of Acts, has a completely different image today.

The truth is, we have strayed far from the original faith of the disciples – and this isn’t a recent development.

     We did not stray when we passed Roe vs. Wade.
     We did not stray when we took prayer out of schools.
     We did not stray with the introduction of rock music to our youth.
     And we did not stray when we decided to listen to Joel Osteen.

Those errors were merely the fruits of a departure from orthodoxy that was in the works even in Paul’s day. (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

The Father told the prophet Jeremiah:
Jeremiah 1:10
See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant. 

While I would in no way presume to be as righteous and noteworthy as Jeremiah, I CAN see the logic in demolishing before rebuilding. You can’t build a structure over a flawed foundation, nor can you establish truth without addressing the lie it is replacing.

I believe that Paul may have had this in mind when he penned the following:

2 Corinthians 10:5
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

 
Every thought… every high thing must be brought into captivity and made to submit to the same standard of obedience that Christ exhibited when He was on this earth.

In this series, which I have decided to call “The Irony of the Church Fathers,” I am going to do a lot of demolishing and rebuilding. I know many of you who are comfortable in your walks with God will probably view it as “all demolition.” Those of you who are truly hungry will see the rebuilding as it occurs.
