The Whole Armor of יְהוָֺה Yehovah© by Marie Lovell Schryver
Father, Yehovah, as we go out into the world, may You clothe us with the armor that You have fashioned for each of us individually – one fashioned by You to bring us protection as well as glory to You – not like Sha’ul’s armor on David, but an armor that only we can wear and use with precision.
When I have done all that You have commanded, I stand before You Father and I put on the belt of truth. Yashua said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father but through Me.” As we receive Your truth – the Living Word, He – the Truth - will set us free! [John 14:6; 8:32] Stand – G2476 – hisTAYme – establish, covenant
I put on the breastplate of righteousness. Your Word says that our righteousness is as filthy rags but that when we have repented and are obedient, we have Your Name and we become the righteousness of Yehovah through Messiah. [Isaiah 64:6; 2 Corinthians 5:21]
I shod* my feet [*to bind under, undergird] with Your Gospel of Shalom – The ‘gospel’ or ‘good news’ that we can have shalom amid tribulation when we are obedient to You. We spread that gospel by taking You with us wherever Your path leads us. As Your Word says, ‘How lovely on the mountains are the feet them who bring ‘good news!’ and “You enlarge my steps under me, And my feet have not slipped.” [Isaiah 57:7; Psalm 18:36]
I take up the shield of faith to be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Without faith, it is impossible to please Yehovah but with faith, mountains can be moved! [Hebrews 11:6; Matthew 17:20]
I put on the helmet of salvation. Yashua took a crown of thorns so I could have a helmet – a crown marked “Kodesh Lᵊ’ Yehovah” or “Set Apart unto Yehovah”! He allowed His deity to be mocked so that I could take every thought captive through obeying Messiah and be saved! [2 Corinthians 10:5]
I take up the Sword of the Ruach HaKodesh, which is the Word of Yehovah. It is quicker and sharper than any two-edged sword, able to discern between the soulish realm and the spirit. With one side we circumcise our heart and with the other we cut down the enemy! [Hebrews 4:12; Deuteronomy 30:6; Romans 2:29 {the word is Hebrew, not Jew}; Revelation 1:16 & 19:15]
I aspire to pray always as the Ruach HaKodesh leads because the fervent prayers of His righteous people, praying according to His will, have the greatest effect. [James 5:16] May Your glory, oh Yehovah, be my rear guard as I pour out supplications before You! [Isaiah 58:8b]
As a true believer in Yehovah, I must be a watchman on Your walls for fellow believers to warn them of the enemy’s activities and to guide them back to Your Torah! [Isaiah 62:6-7]
Father Yehovah, thank You that You lead me beside still waters and You restore my soul; You put a watch at my mouth and a guard at the doors of my lips. You call Your instructions to my remembrance so that I may pass every test that comes my way. You afford to me all the protection of Psalm 91! May I wear the armor you have fashioned for me and may I finish well. [Psalm 23:2b-3; c 91; 143:3; John 14:26]
…for Your glory and renown…
B’Shem Yashua,
Ahmein ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Belt of Truth – It is a loin cloth worn under the white robe closest to the body and represents where the “seed of truth” is propagated.Breastplate of Righteousness – Ephod – It is the heart of the Father revealed (12 tribes) and yet His judgment (urim and thummin, used for decision making/judging) concealed.
Shod feet – no shoes? The “gospel of peace” or “good news of shalom”. Yehovah told Moshe, “Take off your shoes from off your feet for the place you are standing is holy (set-apart) ground.” Sh’mot (Exodus) 3:5 Removing your shoe is a covenant act meaning you know who is in charge. This is not something one wears but how one carries themselves.
Shield of Faith – Faith comes by hearing (sh’ma - שָׁמַע – means to hear and obey in a single word) the Word of Yehovah. אֱמוּנָה - eh-moo-NAH = faith. The root words broken down mean ‘behold the mother of life’. Where the word “ahmein” comes from.
Helmet of Salvation – If it was properly translated it would be ‘crown of Yashua’ because Yashua means ‘Yehovah is salvation’. The crown of the high priest said, “Set Apart for Yehovah” קָדוֹשׁ ליְהֹוָה Kadosh L’ Yehovah.
The Sword of the Spirit – According to Revelation, is the Word of Yehovah; it is the “sword” coming out of Yashua’s mouth. Hebrews 4:12 describes it and gives its function while Revelation says that Yashua uses it to bring judgment by SPEAKING Yehovah’s instructions of righteousness!
Praying (interceding) and Watching (guarding; a watchman – they watched to make sure that Father’s instructions were kept so that the people would be safe) are also elements of the “armor”.
Yashua is a
“priest on the order of Melechizadek” because He was not in the tribe of Levi,
but Judah, which predates the Levitical priesthood. We are the “kingdom of
priests” that are commissioned to teach His Word and bring light to the world!
HalleluYah! – EMET … TRUTH! [Hebrews 7:17; Exodus 19:6; Revelation 1:6]
