How the Day of Trumpets* Became Rosh Hashanah by Marie L. Schryver

Image
On the 1st day of the Seventh Month (Tishrei) the Torah commands us to observe the holy day of *Yom Teruah which means “Day of Shouting” (Leviticus 23:23-25; Numbers 29:1-6). Yom Teruah is a day of rest on which work is forbidden. One of the unique things about Yom Teruah is that the Torah does not say what the purpose of this holy day is. The Torah gives at least one reason for all the other holy days and two reasons for some. The Feast of Matzot (Unleavened Bread) commemorates the Exodus from Egypt, but it is also a celebration of the beginning of the barley harvest (Exodus 23:15; Leviticus 23:4–14). The Feast of Shavuot (Weeks) is a celebration of the wheat harvest (Exodus 23:16; 34:22). Yom Ha-Kippurim (aka Yom Kippur) is a national day of atonement as described in great detail in Leviticus 16. Finally, the Feast of Sukkot (Booths) commemorates the wandering of the Israelites in the desert and is also a celebration of the in-gathering of agricultural produce (Exodus 23:16). I...

Irony of the Church Fathers – 2: So You Want to be a Christian? By Kevin Kleint

This and following posts with the main title " The Irony of the Church Fathers " was written by Kevin Kleint, former editor of a Christian prophetic newsletter called "The Elijah List." He has since stopped writing and posting anything of similar information. The last I heard from him, he had had a type of "crisis of faith." Please pray for him and his family. He wrote a book called " Prophetic Masquerade " which revealed how to expose false prophets. I do not take any credit for these writings, but I feel strongly that they are important to lead others to the truth of the Scriptures and away from man-made religion.  These writings were originally posted publicly and therefore, available to anyone on the internet.    Irony of the Church Fathers – So You Want to be a Christian? By Kevin Kleint I want to give you a warning before you read this series… please take heed. Sometimes, in our pursuit of absolute truth, we discover paradigm-changing facts...

Yehovah's Kingdom Is Not Like the Kingdoms of this World

Image
Yehovah's Kingdom Is Not Like the Kingdoms of this World                                             Yehovah created everything and He reveals Himself through salt (representing everlasting covenant) and light (His revealed truth) to the world through His nation/family known as Israel, the family that anyone who believes that Yashua is Messiah is grafted into. Not the modern Israeli government, but the government that rests on Yashua's shoulders. When Yashua puts His feet on the Mount of Olives, like Boaz, He will redeem the land to take His bride.   2 Chronicles 13:5; Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 11:17-21; Ruth We will still have free will throughout His millennial reign. I know this because it says that if someone dies at 100 years old, they will be considered accursed. He has an army of believers and heavenly beings. His Word is the only Word that matters. His relationsh...

The Ten Commandments as Marriage Vows

Image
The Ten Commandments as Marriage Vows   1 st Commandment – I AM Yehovah Eloheinu, you shall have no other gods in My face. I am your covenanted spouse; you may not make me jealous with another person.   2 nd Commandment – You shall not have any graven image/idol. We must not hold any other person, way of life or item of possession in esteem as highly as our spouse. Only Yehovah is held in higher esteem.   3 rd Commandment – You shall not take the Name of Yehovah lightly or you shall esteem the Name Yehovah more highly than any other name. Our surname is such that everyone knows that we are in covenant before Yehovah, are one flesh, and therefore holds our reputation accountable before others as such and together we must guard the Name of Yehovah.   4 th Commandment – Remember the Sabbath day to keep it set apart. I created everything in 6 days and rested on the 7 th to admire and set it apart as esteemed to Me. You must esteem the 7...

Pesach Sheni or Second Passover ... With Yashua?

Image
If Yashua was obedient to the Torah and taught His disciples to do so as well, then is what I'm about to say possible?  What I'm about to say is speculative, sometimes defined as conjecture or to form an opinion based on incomplete information. But to speculate also means to consider or ponder a possibility. That's what I'm doing with what I'm about to say. I’m merely considering a possibility. I'll start with a question. How long, according to the Bible, did Yashua walk the earth AFTER He rose from the dead? Ma`asei (Acts) 1 tells us it was 40 days. How many days after any Passover is Pesach Sheni or Second Passover? It is no more than 30 days (29 or 30 days is the length of a Hebrew month). Clearly 30 is within the 40 that Yashua was with His disciples and family before He ascended.  According to Torah, it is commanded to have a Pesach Sheni. Bemiḏbar (Numbers) 9:9-14 tells us that if you were around a dead body or on a long journey, you could have P...
